Resolution to Approve a Professional Services Agreement with Hubbell Roth & Clark, Inc. ($398,703.00) and Approve a Consulting Services Contingency Amount ($40,000.00) for the Geddes Avenue Improvements Project

Attached for your review and approval is a resolution to approve a Professional Services Agreement, in the amount of $398,703.00 with Hubbell, Roth & Clark, Inc. (HRC) for engineering and public engagement consulting services for the Geddes Avenue Improvements Project. In addition, this resolution also authorizes the City Administrator to approve change orders to the Professional Services Agreement with HRC up to the total of $40,000.00.
The City of Ann Arbor is planning to undertake the complete reconstruction of Geddes Avenue beginning in 2015. The approved FY2014-2019 Capital Improvements Plan includes the following five projects:
TR-SC-10-09 Geddes Avenue Reconstruction (Huntington to Huron Parkway)
UT-SN-08-05 Geddes Avenue Sanitary Sewer
UT-SN-08-02 Dover Place/Riverview Sanitary Sewer
UT-ST-10-20 Geddes Avenue Storm Sewer
UT-WS-13-03 Dover Place/Riverview Water Main
The above projects are collectively known as the Geddes Avenue Improvements Project. This project potentially includes a new roadway section, storm water quality improvements, sanitary sewer extension, water main extension (Riverview Drive), correction of slope sloughing, and the construction of non-motorized improvements within the project limits.
Public Engagement
The goal of this project is to provide a design that best meets the overall vision of the City (e.g., non-motorized transportation, fiscal responsibility, engineering standards) and the desires of the community. To this end, HRC and their sub consultants will develop and facilitate a robust public engagement process to include the adjacent residents, all the various interest groups, and the public at large.
