Resolution to Approve Purchase of Equipment for the City Data Closets and Data Centers from Turnkey Network Solutions ($72,874.01)
Memorandum
Attached for your review and action is a resolution authorizing the purchase of patch panels, and mounting cabinets for City data closets and data centers.

Budget/Fiscal Impact: Funding for the equipment is available in the FY2017 Information Technology Services Unit budget.

After our new fiber network RFP was awarded, Corning Optics offered the City a 25-year warranty on the new City fiber network cable if we utilize Corning products; which were specified in our RFP. The City obtained pricing for Corning components that need to be installed in our data closets and data centers. Turnkey Network Solutions, one of our construction companies awarded to implement a portion of our new fiber network, offered to purchase the equipment at a lower cost than the City could obtain. In addition to equipment costs savings, this allows equipment that the construction companies need to install to be delivered directly to the sites.
