Resolution to Approve Street Closings for Cleats and Beats on Friday, August 1, 2014 from Noon to Midnight
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of the following streets from 12:00 Noon to 12:00 Midnight on Friday, August 1, 2014 for Beats and Cleats. The actual event runs from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM with the additional time to be used for preparation and clean-up.
* South Main from East William to Huron
* East and West Liberty from South Ashley to South Fourth
* East and West Washington from South Ashley to the alley before the parking structure, leaving it fully accessible
The Ann Arbor Convention and Visitor's Bureau is the primary sponsor of this event. Restaurants will be encouraged to extend their patio seating and live entertainment will take place on three stages-two smaller stages and one main stage from 3:00 PM until 10:00 pm. Various activities will be available for attendees including photo opportunities with either the Premier League Champion Cup or possibly the International Champions Cup which both teams will be competing for during this tournament.
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City's website and GovDelivery. Applicant will also notify impacted businesses and residents via direct contact as well as press releases, print and social media.
