A2D2 (Ann Arbor Discovering Downtown) - Implementation Update
Memorandum
On December 18, 2006, staff updated City Council on progress on the Ann Arbor Discovering Downtown (A2D2) initiative. Currently, A2D2 includes the following priority work plans:
- Create special overlay zoning for the downtown that identified areas of similar character.
- Streamline the development proposal process (process mapping and technology improvements).
- Incorporate a set of essential design guidelines.
- Pursue a comprehensive parking strategy for the downtown.
- Clarify historic preservation criteria.
Significant progress has been made on all five work plans since the last update. A summary of the A2D2 Project highlights is attached to this memorandum. The first page of the attachment summarizes the entire project. The following pages provide added information for each work plan.
