Resolution to Approve the Distribution of the Draft Plan, Ann Arbor Moving Together Towards Vision Zero - City of Ann Arbor Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CPC Recommendation: Approved - 6 Ayes and 0 Nays)
Memorandum
This resolution approves distribution of the drafted Ann Arbor Moving Together Towards Vision Zero - City of Ann Arbor Comprehensive Transportation Plan. The plan has been developed through extensive opportunities for public and stakeholder input, and provides 22 Strategies that seek to advance the following Goals and Values:
* Safety
* Mobility
* Accessibility for All
* Healthy People & Sustainable Places
* Regional Connectivity
These values are intended to guide the City toward two Goals:
* Vision Zero - By 2025, we have all worked together to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries resulting from traffic crashes.
* Carbon Neutrality - By 2030, we have transitioned to a carbon-neutral transportation system.
The distribution of the plan at this time, in advance of public hearings held in conjunction with adoption of the plan, provides a comment period for stakeholders and the City Council to provide feedback or comment to be considered prior to adoption of the plan, which will be forwarded by the Planning Commission to the City Council for approval or rejection.
