Title
Ann Arbor Housing Commission Executive Director Temporary Salary Increase

Memorandum
The Director of Housing and Economic Development was hired on February 26, 2023 and has been on and off medical leave since August 2023 and her last day in the office was March 19, 2024. It is uncertain when she will be able to come back to work and in the meantime, most of her work is being done by the Executive Director, who is working 70+ hours a week to keep up with all of the development activities. The Executive Director is managing 6 new construction projects and renovating most of the AAHC's existing properties in addition to fulfilling her Executive Director functions.
The Executive Director is teaching the entry level Planning Specialist, who was hired in May 2023, how to do housing development so that she can eventually take on additional responsibilities as well.
The Director of Housing and Economic Development's salary is $110,210/year, which is $4,238.85/pay period. The Executive Director is requesting a temporary pay increase of $2,200/pay period until the Director of Housing and Economic Development is able to work full time.
The Executive Director has the authority to approve a salary adjustment for eligible AAHC employees, however, the Ann Arbor Housing Commission Board must approve any salary adjustments for the Executive Director.
