Resolution to Approve Amendment No. 1 to the Third Party Administrator Services Agreement with The ASU Group ($16,000.00)
Memorandum
The resolution before you is to approve an amendment to the existing professional services agreement with The ASU Group for third party administrator (TPA) services related to property and liability insurance claims. The amendment provides for a six-month extension of services. Funding for this project is budgeted and available in the Risk Fund.
The ASU Group has served the City in this capacity since October 2004. The current contract expires October 16, 2007. The proposed agreement incorporates the scope of services and pricing structure of the original contract.
Staff will issue a Request for Qualifications and select a vendor for TPA services prior to the conclusion of this extension.
Passage of this Resolution is recommended.

Whereas, The City must secure adequate third party administrator (TPA) services;
Whereas, The City currently has a contract which expires October 16, 2007 to provide said services through The ASU Group;
Whereas, The City and The ASU Group have negotiated a six-month extension of the contract term to provide for continuous, uninterrupted TPA services during which the City Administration intends to issue a new Request for Qualifications for TPA services; and
Whereas, The ASU Group received human rights approval on October 23, 2006 and living wage approval on May 23, 2007;
RESOLVED, That City Council approve Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with The ASU Group to extend the term of the contract and authorize the expenditures of up to $16,000.00 for services during the extension period; and
