Resolution to Approve an Additional $28,970.07 (Total Agreement Amount of $178,970.07) for the Construction Phase Agreement with the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) for the Allen Creek Railroad Berm Opening Project
Memorandum
City Council previously approved R-19-379 which authorized a total of $150,000.00 for an agreement with the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) for Amtrak's construction related services on the Allen Creek Railroad Berm Opening Project. Amtrak's services included review of shop drawings for items in the railroad right-of-way, for flagging and inspection of construction performed in the railroad right-of-way, and for removal and installation of railroad infrastructure (ties, track, ballast, etc.) during the railroad outage.
Project costs from Amtrak exceed the initial authorization by $28,970.07. Approval of the additional funds will allow the City to make final payment to Amtrak and close their account for the Allen Creek Railroad Berm Project.
Budget/Fiscal Impact: Funding for these services is available within the existing project budget for the Allen Creek Berm Opening Project.
