Attached for your review and approval is a resolution to authorize a Professional Services Agreement with CTI & Associates, Inc. for construction materials testing services in the amount of $39,680.00 for the Huron Parkway-Nixon Road Improvement Project.
With the City Council’s approval the City of Ann Arbor will enter into an agreement with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for the construction of Nixon Road-Huron Parkway Improvement Project in 2009. The construction phase of the project will require construction materials testing by a certified consulting firm.
In preparations for the project’s construction phase, we received proposals from six firms for the required construction materials testing services. Project Management staff evaluated the proposals and selected CTI & Associates, Inc. based on the proposal, staff qualifications, past involvement with similar projects, and cost. CTI & Associates, Inc. received Human Rights and Living Wage approval on March 10, 2008.
Services to be performed include all the required testing for soils, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete. Funds for the requested services are available in the approved project budget for the Nixon Road - Huron Parkway Improvement Project.
