Resolution to Approve the South Maple Avalon Apartments Annexation, 4.9 Acres, 1110 and 1132 South Maple Road (CPC Recommendation: Approval - 7 Yeas and 0 Nays)
Memorandum
Approval of this resolution will allow annexation of this property from Scio Township into the City. The property is within the City's water and sewer service area, and the proposed use is consistent with the adjacent zoning, land uses and master plan. Council action on the proposed R4B (Multiple-Family Dwelling District) zoning and a planned project site plan to develop 70 affordable apartments in two 3-story buildings and associated required site improvements will be scheduled once the annexation process is complete.
The City Planning Commission, at its meeting of October 18, 2016, recommended approval of the request.

Whereas, The territory hereinafter described is located in the Township of Scio and is adjacent to the corporate limits of the City of Ann Arbor;
Whereas, Harry B. Gable, Jr. and Erling Hansen are the owner of said property; and
Whereas, It is the desire of Avalon Housing, Inc. to annex said territory to the City of Ann Arbor, pursuant to the provisions of Act 359 of the Public Acts of the State of Michigan, as amended;
RESOLVED, That the following described lands and premises situated and being in the Township of Scio, Washtenaw County, Michigan, be detached from said Township and annexed to the City of Ann Arbor, to-wit:
