Resolution to Approve Purchase of 700 Altiris Client Management Suite Level 1 Licenses from Sehi Computer Products, Inc. (Not to Exceed $34,650.00)
Memorandum
The attached resolution seeks authorization to execute a purchase order for 700 Altiris Client Management Suite Level 1 Licenses for managing the City's personal computers from Sehi Computer Products, Inc of Rochester, MI for $34,650.00.
Altiris' Client Management Suite allows the Information Technology Services Unit to actively manage the City's personal computing fleet, including desktops, laptops, and tablet computers.

Using this software IT will be able to provide access to critical enterprise resources while maintaining acceptable levels of security, support, and software management including application installation, licensing, security patching, and troubleshooting.

Active management of the City's technology assets provides reduced hardware and software ownership and management costs, improved control of the assets, streamlined operational efficiency, and reduced Help Desk calls.

The implementation of a comprehensive management system for all City computers is a strategic goal for the Information Technology Services Unit.   The City's Information Technology Services Unit has been successfully piloting this software to manage the desktops and laptops implemented in the 15th District Judicial Court, since August, 2007.

The City solicited price quotes for the 700 Altiris Client Management Suite Level 1 Licenses from four Altiris vendors on February 21st, 2008 through a FAX Bid.  The FAX bid results are below:
