Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of Maynard Street from William to before the Parking Structure on Friday, August 12 at 12:00 Noon until Saturday, August 13 at 1:00 AM for the NYPD 25th Anniversary Block Party. The Parking Structure will remain accessible.
The applicant, the State Street District, is partnering with the restaurant to celebrate their 25th anniversary. There will be live music and performers. Wristband purchases will be required for food and drink.
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses. The sponsor will submit an application for approval from the State of Michigan Liquor Control Commission for temporary sales, service and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the defined areas pursuant to the M.L.C.C. regulations.
Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City’s website and GovDelivery. The sponsor will also notify neighboring business with either face-to-face contact or flyers.

Whereas, The City has received a request from the State Street District to close Maynard Street from William to before the Parking Structure on Friday, August 12 from Noon until Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1:00 AM to present the NYPD 25th Anniversary Block Party;
Whereas, The street closure will be signed, barricaded and properly supervised by the sponsor;
Whereas, The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses;
Whereas, The sponsor will submit an application for approval from the State of Michigan Liquor Control Commission for temporary sales, service and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the defined areas pursuant to the M.L.C.C. regulations; and
Whereas, Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City’s website and GovDelivery and the applicant’s communication with neighboring businesses;
RESOLVED, That Council approve the closing of Maynard Street from William to before the Parking Structure on Friday, August 12 at 12:00 Noon until Saturday, August 13 at 1:00 AM for the NYPD 25th Anniversary Block Party.
