Memorandum
There is a resolution before you to approve a grant of easement for the construction and maintenance of an underground natural gas service pipeline to Michigan Consolidated Gas Company, a Michigan corporation.
The 12- foot wide gas service pipeline will serve the new campus of City buildings and operations at the W.R. Wheeler Service Center, including the solid waste transfer station, material recovery and equipment maintenance operations.
The proposed easement route runs southerly from Ellsworth Road past the transfer station.
The terms and conditions of the grant of easement have been reviewed and approved by the Systems Planning Unit of the Public Services Area.
Approval of the grant of easement is recommended.

Whereas, The Michigan Consolidated Gas Company has requested an easement for the construction and maintenance of a 12-foot wide natural gas service pipeline in, on and over City owned property located at the City's W.R. Wheeler Service Center;
Whereas, The City staff have determined that the request of Michigan Consolidated Gas Company for an easement is reasonable and that the terms and conditions of the easement will not interfere with City operations; and
RESOLVED, That the City of Ann Arbor approve the granting of an easement to Michigan Consolidated Gas Company for the construction and maintenance of the 12-foot wide underground natural gas service pipeline in, on and over City land, described as follows:
A 12 foot wide gas main easement being part of the NW ¼ of Section 15, T3S, R6E, Pittsfield Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan, the centerline of which is described as:
Commencing at the NW Corner of said Section 15; thence N87º 55' 00" E 1893.58 feet along the N line of said Section 15, said N line also being the centerline of Ellsworth Road (66 feet wide); thence S02º 05' 00" W 33.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING of said centerline of said 12 foot wide easement; thence S00º 00' 01" W 153.34 feet; thence S14º 47' 54" W 100.10 feet; thence S00º 13' 36" W 466.83 feet; thence S01º 15' 29" W 249.24 feet; thence S01º 06' 40" W 120.78 feet; thence S01º 48' 22" E 302.32 feet; thence S19º 46' 41" E 91.58 feet; thence S01º 44' 29" W 604.09 feet; thence 291.90 feet along the arc of a curve to the left having a radius of 280.00 feet, a central angle of 59º 43' 52", and a long chord bearing S31º 09' 39" E 278.86 feet; thence 25.34 feet along the arc of a curve to the right having a radius of 25.00 feet, a central angle of 58º 04' 27", and a long chord bearing S 31º 59' 27" E 24.27 feet; and thence S02º 57' 09"E 32.95 feet to the POINT OF ENDING of said centerline of said 12 foot wide easement.
RESOLVED, That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute the grant of easement in the form approved by the City Attorney.
