Attached please find for Council action the necessary resolution to set a public hearing on the request from 317 Maynard LLC to establish an Industrial Development District.
State law requires that a public hearing be scheduled on receipt of a petition to establish an Industrial Development District.

Body
Whereas, Pursuant to Public Act 198 of 1974, as amended, ("the Act") the City Council has the authority to establish "Industrial Development Districts" within the City of Ann Arbor;
Whereas, On June 8, 2012, 317 Maynard LLC requested the City establish a new Industrial Development District on its property located in the City of Ann Arbor comprised of land being more particularly described in Attachment 1;
Whereas, Construction, acquisitions, alterations or installation of proposed real and personal property by First Martin has not commenced at the time of filing the request to establish this district; and
Whereas, The Act requires that City Council set a public hearing to receive comment on the proposed new Industrial Development District No. 2012-010 and provide notice of the public hearing by mail to all owners of real property located within the proposed district and to the public by newspaper advertisement or public posting on the establishment of the proposed district;
RESOLVED, That the City Council of the City of Ann Arbor hereby sets a public hearing for August 9, 2012 at 7:00 pm or as soon thereafter as it may be convened in the City Council Chambers, 2nd floor, Guy Larcom Municipal Building, 301 E. Huron Street receive public comment on the proposed new Industrial Development District No. 2012-010 as described in Attachment 1 to this Resolution; and
RESOLVED, That the City Clerk be directed to publish notice of public hearing in a newspaper of general circulation in the City and mail notice to all owners of real property located within the proposed district as indicated by the records of the City Assessor.
