Resolution Accepting Annual Renewal Recommendation of the Council Liquor License Review Committee and Setting Hearings for Non-Renewal of Liquor Licenses
Memorandum
The Council Liquor License Review Committee has completed its annual review process required by Chapter 109 of the Ann Arbor City Code of all on-premises liquor licenses in the City of Ann Arbor.
The attached resolution requests acceptance of the Recommendations of the Council Liquor License Review Committee on setting hearings for non-renewal for the following liquor license holders:
· Liquor License No. 5492-2013 held by Banfield A.C., Inc. (d/b/a Banfield Bar & Grill) (Business ID 3579)
The resolution also recommends approval of the remainder of the on-premises liquor licenses in Ann Arbor.

Whereas, The Annual Liquor License Renewal process, including any hearing on the question of non-renewal, must be completed before March 31, 2014;
Whereas, The Council Liquor License Review Committee has completed its annual review of on-premises liquor licenses in accordance with Section 9:79 of the Ann Arbor City Code;
Whereas, After investigation and receipt of recommendation from City service areas, the Council Liquor License Review Committee recommends non-renewal of the on-premises liquor licenses for the following license holders:
· Liquor License No. 5492-2013 held by Banfield A.C., Inc. (d/b/a Banfield Bar & Grill) (Business ID 3579) for outstanding personal property tax and other outstanding obligations due and payable to the City as of the date of the Annual Review (Section 9:79(b) Ann Arbor City Code)
Whereas, The Council Liquor License Review Committee recommends a Hearing Date of Tuesday, February 25, 2014 be set for hearing the above matters;
Whereas, City Council has previously appointed Councilmember Lumm, Chair of the Council Liquor License Review Committee, as Hearing Officer to conduct the required hearings; and
Whereas, The Council Liquor License Review Committee recommends that all other on-premises licenses not specifically named above be renewed without objection;
RESOLVED, That City Council accept the recommendation that the above matters be set for hearing for the reasons stated and all other on-premises liquor licenses be renewed for the current annual renewal period; and
RESOLVED, That City Council hereby appoints Councilmember Lumm as Hearing Officer and sets the Hearing Date for the non-renewal of liquor licenses on February 25, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.
