How Established:
Council resolution approved December 4, 1961 and amended by Council resolution on September 8, 1969. Membership size amended May 6, 1991. Mission statement revised September 21, 1992. Revised by-laws approved by Council June 18, 1997.
Purpose:
To gather and analyze information regarding the municipal airport and the property it occupies, and to make recommendations to the City Council and other city officials.
Special Qualifications for Appointment:
The composition of the committee shall represent the broad public interest.
Length of Terms:
3 years, or until reappointment or appointment of a successor. No person serving on this committee continuously for six years shall be eligible for reappointment, until the lapse of three years. (City Charter, Section 5:17)
Meeting Times and Frequency:
This is a permanent committee that meets the 3rd Wednesday in January, March, May, July, September and November at 5:00 p.m. at the Ann Arbor Airport. The meeting times are adjusted as necessary.
Membership / Committee Composition:
7 members. The Pittsfield Township and Lodi Township representatives are ex officio and non-voting members.
