How Established: Council resolution approved December 4, 1961 and amended by Council resolution on September 8, 1969. Membership size amended May 6, 1991. Mission statement revised by Council resolution September 21, 1992. Revised by-laws approved by Council June 18, 1997. Purpose: To gather and analyze information regarding the municipal airport and the property it occupies, and to make recommendations to the City Council and other city officials. Special Qualifications for Appointment: The composition of the committee shall represent the broad public interest. Length of Terms: 3 years, or until reappointment or appointment of a successor. City Councilmembers serve 1-year terms. No person serving on this committee continuously for six years shall be eligible for reappointment, until the lapse of three years. (City Charter, Section 5:17) Meeting Times and Frequency: This is a permanent committee that meets the 3rd Wednesday in January, March, May, July, September and November at 5:00 p.m. at the Ann Arbor Airport, 801 Airport Drive, basement confernce room. The meeting times are adjusted as necessary. Membership / Committee Composition: 7 members, including 2 City Councilmembers.
