This Board is no longer active-Ord. 45-04 How Established: Section 1:215, Chapter 8, Title I of the Ann Arbor City Code. Purpose: (1) Interpret electrical rules for inspectors, (2) Give examinations for journeymen and masters, (3) Issue licenses to electricians, (4) Suggest amendments to the Code. Length of Terms: 4 years or until a successor is appointed. (Term limits provision in Section 5;17(a) of the City Charger does not apply to members of this Board - See City Attorney opinion of 2/9/00) Meeting Times and Frequency: This is a permanent committee that meets the 1st Tuesday of every month and as often as required to transact required business. Membership/Committee Composition: 6 members - set by ordinance: Manager of Planning and Development Services, the Chief Electrical Inspector, electrical contractor, journeyman electrician, representative of the local public utility, and the supervisor of electrical wiring of a local plant. The Planning and Development Services Manager and Chief Electrical Inspector are ex-officio and 4 members are appointed by the Mayor, subject to approval by the City Council.
